They’re actually from Den Haag, which is short for des Gravenhage, or as we say in English, The Hague.
Which, for the record, means something like “the count’s hunting grounds”.
The Hague is a wonderful town, home to the Dutch government, delicious oliebollen ( donut holes, roughly ), the koniklijke bibliotheek ( royal library, which looks like something out of “2001” ), and the nearby beachside town of Scheveningen.
Also, if ever traveling in Nerderland, I prefer the royal art collection of the Mauritshuis in The Hague to the larger Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. The former is small, intimate, the cream of the crop as collected by a wealthy patron of the arts ( The House of Orange itself).

So give me an F in 80’s lore, if you must.
