I just put all my pumpkins in the compost pile. But before that I took some pictures. One of them was so squishy I almost threw up after touching it. Gross.
Next up is T-day. Not mice’s favorite holiday to be certain.
Hope you all had a great Halloween. Me we had plenty of Trick or Treaters. Plenty of candy left over. My office is collecting it to send to the men and women serving overseas. Perfect. That way I will not have to eat it.
I dressed up as Jason but I didn’t have the heart to come to the door in costume. I didn’t want to scare any babies.
I showed my parents “The Eye Creatures” and “I Married a Monster from Outer Space” pretty good for a Halloween treat. The kids had fun and Mrs. Mice looked more ghoulish than ever. In a good way.
We had a total of 12 pumpkins. I wonder if every year we are to have 12 pumpkins. Maybe MORE next year. Yikes.
I am the clown with the tearaway face.
We are busily getting ready for the big day around at camp land du mice
I am sorry that I posted early about Steak and BJ Day. I had to remove that because I realized that it was very insensitive to my loving wife. In all fairness I got chocolate and all sorts of nice things. And really it’s just as much my holiday as any sort of holiday made by and for the beautiful chicks of the world.
Really, Valentine’s Day is such a great day now that I found Mrs. Mice. I don’t need to throw darts at anyone’s name and plus I am a Dad which I never thought I would be, not could I have imagined how rewarding it is.
In short I may or may not participate in Steak and BJ day, but I will not discuss it any longer. I apologize to Mrs. Mice and to any of you who read about it on my site this week. I love Valentine’s Day now and I don’t need an opposite day to it in March or on any other day.
Now on to more current matters. I wore green today and so did DJ Sobe Real. Mrs. mice cooked Corned Beef and Cabbage plus Potatoes and Irish, oops English beer. Sorry, I looked for Harps but there was none. Good news Newcastle was only like 10$ for a six pack at Albertsons. Sheesh. Next time I’m going to Bevmo. I would have had Magners but its not good for cooking Corned Beef in. At least I would not guess it to be so.
Ohhh, we also watched Darby O’Gill and the Little People. And although in my family I have the most Irish Blood, Mrs. Mice has such a love for Irish dancing and culture and history that she of anyone that I know qualifies as an honorary Celt. (And in case you are from Boston that is pronounced with a hard C)
Happy Saint Patrick’s Day and long live the Serpents.
Last Weekend at Dickens Christmas Fair was very much fun. I gave out some Christmas presents. Not much, just some little somethings for some people. I got there somewhat on time and waited for Belle to give her her Christmas present. I fet odd waiting fomr someone while all the dancing was going on. AlthoughI kept saying no I was sotra flattered and happy that I was asked several times to dance by the Fezziwiggers. Even my guy friend offered to set me up with a daughter in order that I might dance. I remembered how I learned to waltz at Fezziwigs.
One of the odd things about going back to Dickens is trying to say hello to old friends. Some of them, maybe I pissed them off by falling off the face of the earth when we got married and had le DJ. Really there is almost nothing more embarassing than waving and not being noticed on purpose.
When I first did Dickens fair I went out with a girl who was a Fezziwigger. I wonder how she is doing. She was very cute and seemed to be made to do Dickens. I hope she is happy and healthy.
On Sunday I even got to see French Postcards. I got my ticket for Postcards in the morning when I got there because I had been warned. I waited in line shortly after 4:30 but that really did not give me a very good seat. Still I enjoyed seeing half naked girls some of which I know. I loved the banter provided by Will Wood ands his fake-tend wife. Shortly thereafter the man himself stopped by and I was able to give him some chocolates. Really they were not mine to give away but asking Will to pay is like charging Santa for the cookies left out for him. Some things are just not done.
Now I am sick. My nose is running, I feel terrible. Good nocht.
For Thanksgiving dinner, who did the dishes?
I had a good turkey day and learned something new.
The “Christmas” cookies I had been making were not Christmas cookies at all. They are actually St. Joseph Day cookies or I think they are also called zeppole. So next March 19th I have an offer to make zeppole with my Dad’s friend who owns a real Italian restaurant. This is the place that made my parents and every one attending their 40th anniversary feast. I actually lost cuount at how many courses there were. So that made me feel good and happy.
I got to see the Bond movie too. Yes, there were many differences, some welcome, some not so welcome. But in all I would have to say that the movie has kept the franchise alive and there will probably be another Bond movie with Daniel as Bond, James Bond. Was it the best Bond film in decades by my account? No. I t s not a clear and stand out winner on any of my lists, but it is worth watching.
Everyone always talks about their favorite James Bond as if the actor is solely responsible for the movie. The more I watch these movies the more I believe that each movie should be considered on its own merit and the actor playing Bond is just another element in the mix. For that reason I won’t tell you how I think he rates amongst the other Bond portrayers. I will say that it was not the worst Bond movie ever, neither the best.
Licence to Kill I think is my least favorite, with the least redeeming features. Thunderball and The Spy Who Loved Me are probably my favorites. Good villains, hot Bond girls, great writing, just all around good.
We also got to go to Dickens Christmas Fair. Its like we never left. Hoping we can go again soon as its much fun and frivolity.
