Illuminati Test Card
I found this great site about the
history of the british test card. A test card is the image shown during the time between scheduled broadcasts. The american equivalent is the color bar shown after a station signs off for the night or during some sort of technical failure. As more and more stations will show paid programming all night long the test card will soon become a thing of the past.
In this light I have made my own test card with a flying eye from a german woodcut. "Illuminati Test Card" so there it is.
Weekend was brightened despite gloomy whether by spending Sunday with our good friend and my "best person" EQ. We saw
Star Trek Nemesis. Luckily I was convinced this movie would suck. I say luckily because it was a decent movie and was much better than I was led to believe. It was nice to see Patrick Stewart and the gang. mrs. mice and I were able to predict a lot of what was going to happen before it happened. A game we like to play. Hopefully it didn't spoil it for Emily or anyone else in the theater.
I did sorta make a joke during the movie. There is a love scene between Deanna and Will who are now married. Will is on top and there aren't a lot of covers to go around. The shot begins by showing their kissing faces and gradually the shot is panning down more and more you see more and more of Johnathan Frakes' (Riker) nekkid body (or a body double I'm guessing). I said it before I had a chance to censor myself and it was loud enough that a couple people laughed. "Please God, don't show his butt." I try to be good and not ruin a movie for the other people who paid their hard earned money for a movie ticket. Sadly, I hear my brother has a similar problem. I just dread the day that someone has to shout "Shut up!" at me in a movie house. Because I really would feel bad.
EQ is a good person. We realized again for the 100th time that we share a lot of values with her. That sort of begs the question, well, what values? Lets just say the that she is trustworthy, and that I consider her part of my family. I know I didn't really answer the question. But there is a tendency recently amongst some of our friends, I think, to be disrespectful. And luckily we have one friend who isn't and that is Emily. Yes I am being judge-mental, yes I should be able to accept people for who they are. I can't tell people what to do. But can I wish that they wouldn't act foolish and break each others hearts? Of course not. everyone has to learn the hard way, especially me.
I have said too much already.
So with that,

Night Gallery
Well, gallery works! Its very cool.
I added two galleries so far: funny faces and mud mask.
Still working on trying to get mail working, until then the mailto isn't going to work. Tomorrow we are meeting our new manager at work. I have to say I am more than a little concerned. I've had some good managers and I have had some bad managers. A bad manager is worse than a head cold and a lot harder to get rid of. My last manager was the best I have ever had so its going to take a lot to live up to his legacy.
Been playing lots of Kingdom Hearts. It is a spectacle, a vision. I haven't been getting a lot of sleep.
I got the new version of Mozilla. I had been thinking that my weblog page didn't work with Netscape. It turns out that it works fine with a current version of Mozilla, just not with Netscape 4.7. I tweaked the index page so that it looks comparable with IE. It could use some more work, but the first order of business is making the links work. In other words, getting all the content started.
I forgot to mention a wedding I went to. Very good friends of mine, Dave and Ellen got married after dating for as long as I have known them. I was trying to remember just how long that had been. I'm thinking like 6 years or something. Anyway, the ceremony was classy and heartfelt and since Ellen is the guild mistress (now guild matron?) of the Merrie Pranksters there was a lot of dancing - four sets- and an enormous dance floor on which to do it. Even the Morris set was good. I saw many of my old friends and regretted not doing more English Country dances. I would like to do more. I would even consider taking my Ren Faire gear out of retirement. *Horror!*
As I am wont to say,

Black Hair
I dyed my hair black. It looks very fake. I like that.
This is also a test to see if I can get a graphic into my weblog. Is it working?
I have been trying to get
gallery working. Its not been easy. I imagine though it will be worth it though. It looks, as they say, cool.
